ActivePage Design is family-owned and home-based, like many small businesses. Owners
Josh and Heather Legler bring both education and experience to our projects.
Joshua Legler
Joshua Legler is designer and programmer at ActivePage Design. Josh is involved in all
projects from initial client meetings to final publishing. He brings ten years of
experience in Internet design and business strategy.
Josh completed the Master of Science in Information Management degree at Syracuse University in upstate New York, focusing on e-business and data management, in May 2005. Josh received the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree from the University of Washington, graduating cum laude. He also received the Certificate of International Studies in Business
and pursued specialized study in Human Resources Management & Organizational Behavior. Previous
to founding ActivePage Design, he worked at The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR), where
his duties included involvement on the Web site design team and work as proofreader of NBR
publications. Josh also interned at Hitachi, Ltd., in Japan and served as a missionary in Taiwan.
Josh's skills in Internet-related technologies include: HTML, JavaScript,
Visual Basic Script, Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP),
Server Side Includes (SSI), UNIX and Windows
shell languages, Hypertext Transfer and File Transfer Protocols (HTTP and FTP), Cascading Style
Sheets (CSS), Dynamic HTML (DHTML), eXtensible HTML (XHTML), and Structured Query Language (SQL) for MySQL and Microsoft
Access databases. Additionally, Josh is skilled in: Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating
systems, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.), photo editing applications
(including Paint Shop Pro, Corel PhotoPaint, and GIMP), graphics applications (Macromedia Fireworks
and Corel Draw), and publishing applications (Corel Ventura).
Heather Legler
Heather Legler is ActivePage Design's marketing expert. She solicits new clients, reviews
project conceptual designs, edits project copy/text, and examines all finished projects for
accuracy and completeness.
Heather completed a BA in Family and Home Business Management (individualized major) at Central
Washington University in 2001 and received her AA degree from Seattle Community Colleges. Heather has
also studied Music Composition at the College of Eastern Utah. She has worked previously at
VodaPhone/AirTouch Paging and Data Dimensions.
Josh and Heather, with daughter Hannah and sons Isaac and Alden, live in Bountiful, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City. Both Josh and Heather are active in community
affairs, especially with their church.
